So far so good! Caitlin has been a little under the weather the past few days, but the fever broke yesterday afternoon and she was on the up and up just in time for the holiday. Last night at 8pm she tried her best to not go to bed. She struggled with daddy for at least 20 -30 minutes, but did finally go down and give us time to build presents. Present building went smoothly and by 10pm we were done! Amazing.

At 1:30am Christmas morning we heard “mommy!” through the monitor and the doorknob rustling. She was not feeling so hot (coughing fit) and wanted to come cuddle… so three (I guess technically 4) in the big bed it was! While Jack and I slept restlessly, Caitlin crashed and was happy as could be. 5:30am Jack gave up and moved to the couch (since Caitlin takes up 2/3rds of the bed) and then at 6:30 I finally got up as well. Wouldn’t you know it, of course Caitlin slept in this morning. On most days off she is up between 5:30 and 7, this morning she decided that almost 8pm was the appropriate time! Clearly she does not know what Christmas is all about yet.

She came down and groggily looked around… red wagon with a bolt dog, Fisher Price play set and a table w/ chairs all waited for her, wrapped, but assembled and ready to play. I’m not sure she knew what to think. Then in a matter of minutes she was all over the Fisher Price play set and within an hour or so she was sitting in her red wagon with all the other toys she had opened. And yes, she actually opened her presents this year!

Uh oh, she is waking up from her nap! Time to start Christmas part II…

Hope everyone is having a very Merry Christmas!
